July 26, 2011 10:39 PM
Korean Air will introduce the first A380 to Asia from JFK in two weeks, signaling the start of a new era of air service for the New York area. Korean Air flight 082 will depart JFK at 2 p.m., Aug. 9 and will be the first commercial A380 flight to cross the Pacific from New York.

Korean Air’s A380 service will connect JFK travelers to cities across Asia through Incheon, one of the world’s most-awarded international airports. The airline serves the New York area with two daily flights to Asia out of JFK with connecting service to more than 75 cities throughout China, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia. The aircraft’s unique configuration is getting a lot of attention.

There are only 407 seats in the entire plane, fewer than any other A380 currently in service. And there are passenger amenities not found on any other airline. The Airbus A380 is a double-deck, wide-body, four-engine jet airliner manufactured by the European corporation, Airbus. It is the largest passenger airliner in the world.

The Airbus have 2 decks and lounges for economy class cabins as well.
